THE PALOMBELLA
Classic Car Show belonged to Queen Margherita of Savoy
To mark the 100th anniversary of Queen Margherita’s passing and the closing event of the Louis Vuitton Dolomites Classic Run, the 1909 Itala 35/45 HP Palombella, which belonged to Queen Margherita of Savoy, will be on display in the Conference Hall of the Royal Palace of Monza from September 4 to September 20, 2026.
The Itala Automobile Factory was one of the most illustrious automotive manufacturers in Turin and Italy.
Itala’s prestige was such that it was one of the automakers favored by the Royal House of Savoy, particularly by Queen Margherita, for whom the Itala 35/45 HP was built; she christened it “Palombella,” and its refined bodywork was crafted in Milan by Cesare Sala, one of the leading coachbuilders of the era.
