With the arrival of spring in Milan, nature takes center stage even in a large city such as this one.

The streets and squares are filled with colors, all kinds of scents are present in every park while days start to become longer, encouraging you to enjoy outdoor activities after a long day at work.

Walking along the Navigli
Milan has been a navigable city for centuries thanks to the canal and harbors system known as the Navigli. Nowadays the Navigli district includes the boathouse of Porta Ticinese and the urban section of Naviglio Grande and Pavese. It features trendy businesses, traditional restaurants, art galleries frequented by artists, models, musicians and university students. It also offers romantic corners such as the Vicolo dei Lavandai, where you can still see the old stone wash tubs.
A trip to the city parks thanks to its bike sharing services
Milan is greener than you may think. It is possible to discover trees, blooming flowerbed and gardens that are often hidden among building walls. Bicycles are the ideal means of transportation to enjoy these green oases thanks to numerous bike lanes and bikesharing services. Start with the Gardens of Porta Venezia, with a proposed itinerary that goes through the Royal Villa's Gardens and the Sempione Park, between trendy parks and outdoor art pieces, the Castle, the Torre Branca, the Triennale and the arch of Arco della Pace.
Admire Milan from above
Milan is fascinating when watched from above as well: with its clock towers, skyscrappers, brick roofs, glass and steel attics that make for a unique landscape that waits to be discovered with the longer days. From the terraces of the Cathedral, where the statue of the Madonnina stands at a 108,50 meters altitude, to the Pirelli Skyscrapper, product of Gino Ponti's ingenuity, until the towers that have enriched local skyline in the last years, such as the Unicredit tower, the Lombardy Region Offices Building and City Life's Isozaki tower.
Experience the Milanese nightlife districts
Milan is known to be industrious, frantic and chaotic, with a daily flow of people in constant movement. Does it ever stop? Fortunately, it does! You can relax and have fun in Milan, specially after 6 pm, when the time of Happy Hours kickstart the city's nightlife. Bars and night clubs take center stage at numerous districts. There is always for everyone: young and not so young, students, businesspeople, V.I.P.s and more.
The city's botanical gardens
Why not enjoy springime while discovering the city's botanical gardens? The first one is hidden inside the Brera building: a historical garden and an authentic open air museum. A visit to this green island is an occasion to learn to know neture. The second one is at Città Studi, in the manor known as Cascina Rosa, and repurposed as an academic botanical garden in 2001. Along numerous itineraries amid lawns, typical Lombard sceneries, a small stream and a pond, you will find several plant species here.
