The show is online in Lombardy

The show continues at home, in Lombardy. Discover the plays, films, concerts, videos and podcasts available for free online

Live streaming shows, films and concerts or to see whenever you want, comfortably seated in your living room that magically transforms into a theater and cinema.

While waiting for theaters, museums, cinemas and film libraries to reopen, in Lombardy the show continues directly in our homes, so as not to give up enjoying, in the full safety for both spectators and artists, the great comfort and nourishment of art.
Here are some indications for choosing among the numerous online initiatives planned by private and public bodies in Lombardy.

Digital TV and web reviews: the theater is online in Lombardy
If you want to see the most beautiful theatrical performances by masters such as Giorgio Strehler or Luca Ronconi and many other directors who have directed the best Italian theater actors, the Piccolo Teatro di Milano offers the Piccolo Teatro TV free to the public. On the platform you will find all the most beautiful shows from this historic Milanese theater and much more, with continuous updates provided on social networks.

The Centro Teatrale Bresciano in the virtual review Resistenze Teatrali tells the everyday life of stage work and proposes new projects so as not to interrupt, at least virtually, the relationship between the public and actors and entertainment workers paused by the health emergency. Contemporary dramaturgical shows, poetry recitals entrusted to famous performers, daily logbooks of the performances are always available on the Resistanze Teatrali website.

A different, unique project is the one proposed by the Spazio Teatro No'hma in Milan, which launched the concept of the On Life theater: a "theater of the future" which, breaking down the distance with the physical stage space, enters the spectators' home. Both the shows produced by the theater and those of international companies are broadcast on the site, first in live streaming, then available in replay.

Live streaming music to your home
Until December 18th, the free live streaming of the initiative “In Lombardia i teatri non si fermano”, events promoted and coordinated by the Lombardy Region. For the billboard “In Lombardia lo spettacolo continua" (In Lombardy the show continues), three end-of-year events broadcast live on the regional portal from the Testori Auditorium of Palazzo Lombardia in Milan. Protagonists on the scene on the 16th, 17th and 18th of December: the musical duo Duperdu, the singer-songwriter Claudio Sanfilippo, the song theater by Francesco Pellicini.

In Brescia, the Fondazione Teatro Grande has resumed its activities which, from December 2020 until February 2021, offers a schedule of web and TV musical shows broadcast on three channels: Classica HD (Sky channel 136), Teletutto (digital channel 12 terrestre) and the theater’s Facebook page. Among the proposals of the rich program of the Teatro Grande: chamber music with Mozart's Sonatas for piano and violin and pieces entrusted to the Ensemble of the Teatro Grande, jazz concerts and even the prestigious opera Carmen. Also scheduled, on Teletutto, is the Christmas concert of the Vocal and Instrumental Ensemble Continuum, which will be broadcast in prime time on 25 December and will be conducted by Maestro Luigi Azzolini.

Let's go to the cinema in the living room
If, on the other hand, cinema is your passion, you will know that the Cineteca Milano, established in 1947, preserves and enhances the quality film heritage. Today also an interactive museum, the Cineteca has a huge archive that can be viewed online for free, upon registration: you will find historical films, anthologies, documentaries, restored masterpieces, silent films, shorts, cartoons and works signed by the most famous directors in the history of cinema. On the site you will also find links with the Library of the Municipality of Milan and the Library of the Lombardy Region, where you can discover other films about the city and our region.

Also interesting is the programming of the Cinema Nuovo Eden, a cultural center of the Municipality of Brescia, managed by the Brescia Museums Foundation. Quality arthouse cinema, author reviews, independent productions, musical films for the Eden in salotto (Eden in the Living Room) initiative: a platform with titles to be watched in streaming, on demand, for a small fee (4 Euros). The programming is constantly updated.

A thousand films on design at the Milan Triennale
The Milan Triennale continues its online programming until the end of the year and beyond with the Triennale Upside Down: live broadcasts, videos, podcasts and other content is published on the website and on the social channels of the exhibition space that hosts the Design Museum. Not to be missed, for design enthusiasts and beyond, is the Audiovisual Archive which offers around 1,000 films, 600 audio recordings, news reports and films on the 22 editions of the Milan Triennale (1923-2019).
