6 slopes for the last skiing of the season
It's still time for skiing in the mountains of Lombardy. Don't miss the chance to ski down some of the most beautiful and characteristic snow-covered slopes in the Alps. Here are some tips for the upcoming weekends, including - why not - Easter.
Bormio, skiing and tradition
Bormio, in Valtellina, is definitely one of the ideal destinations for the last fun-filled skiing of the season. With its 1,800 meters of altitude difference, it is the first FUN ski area in the Alps. Nothing could be nicer for ski enthusiasts who can enjoy beautiful days of sun and relaxation. And if you pass through the center of Bormio on Easter Day, don't miss I Pasquali, real works of art with symbolic religious themes will parade through the town.
Colere, skiing and snowboarding
Colere offers thrilling views thanks to the presence of the Orobie Orientali Alps and the Adamello chain flanked by Pizzo della Presolana.
The slopes are suitable not only for skiers, but also for those who prefer to have fun snowboarding. In addition to ski mountaineering, one can enjoy off-piste skiing and winter hiking at high altitudes.
Skiing at high altitudes
How much breath do you have in your lungs? The direttissima Tonale-Presena-Ponte di Legno slope, one of the longest in Europe with its 11 km and more than 1,700 m of elevation gain, is sure to be a good test. The Adamello Ski area is definitely an ideal destination for a few days on the snow at Easter thanks to the high altitudes of the Presena glacier, whose snowpack, always exposed to the sun during the day and to the cold temperatures at night, provides skiing with breathtaking views.
Thrilling descents in Livigno
With its 115 km of slopes, Livigno is one of the most important and well-equipped resorts in the Alps. It awaits you for Easter skiing. From the Costaccia ski area via Carosello 3000 to Mottolino, you can count on numerous slopes of varying difficulty, but if you're looking for an adrenaline rush, you can launch yourself from Carosello 3000 all the way to the center of town, thanks to a thrilling descent that will leave you breathless. Do you love shopping? Thanks to its status as a duty-free area, you can make interesting purchases in the beautiful stores in the streets of the center.
Wonders in Madesimo on the Canalone slope
The Easter holidays are a perfect opportunity to enjoy scenic walks in the spring sunshine, have fun outdoors and, why not, treat yourself to one last ski run. Here the last skiing of the season is a must on the Il Canalone slope, a slope from another time because it is not groomed by snowcats, defined by many as one of the most beautiful slopes in the Alps because of its difficulty but also because of the views and sensations that only this slope can give.
Night skiing in Santa Caterina Valfurva
Skiing at Easter on the Deborah Compagnoni slope is certainly an opportunity not to be missed. The slope named after the former Italian champion is definitely one of the most beautiful slopes in the area. Equipped with a lighting system that also allows for fantastic night skiing. For lovers of spring sun and tanning, it is a must to reach the crest of the Sobretta peak with the gondola that leaves the village to overlook the sunny side of the Alpe Valley: you will find yourself in paradise. The small town of Santa Caterina was also the birthplace of another mountain great, Marco Confortola. It will not be difficult to meet them in the village, and if it happens don't forget the classic selfie with the hashtag #inLombardia.
