The  Ghirla Hammer is one of the oldest and best preserved in the province.  It dates back to the 18th Century and remained active until 1991. From 1996 the building is owned by the Piambello Mountain Community, which has committed itself to the recovery, restoration and maintenance of this important local testimony of industrial archaeology. It is only a few minutes from the Via Francisca route of the Lukmanier.
