Situated on the border between southern Switzerland and northern Italy, Lake Lugano, which is also known as Lake Ceresio, is a glacial lake in the canton of Ticino and the Provinces of Varese and Como.
One of the most beautiful subalpine lakes, it exudes a subtle almost mysterious charm and boasts a long history as a popular tourist destination. The delightful hills overlooking the lake offer superb views of the surrounding countryside, while the lakeside towns and villages are perfect for a relaxing holiday. There are also many cultural attractions as well as opportunities for walks and bike rides.
