Iseo Lake’s activities

Culture, nature, sports, beaches and good food on Lake Iseo.

In between the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia, Lake Iseo emerges from the mountains surrounding it: close to the city and you can find anything you are looking for during holidays.

Romantic walks along the shore, breathtaking landscapes and the quietness of the lake's water. A must is Lovere: visit the touristic port, the squares and the Tadini Academy, place where you can find the masterpieces of Canova.

Another must is Sarnico, with its historic center, elegant and refined with its Liberty houses and gardens full of flowers. From there, you can leave for a cruise on the lake or for a walk in the nearby hills.

Did you know that the biggest lake island in Europe is in Lake Iseo? Montisola, reachable by boat from places like Tavernola, a green oasis where cars are forbidden, full of bike ways and walk ways, to fully enjoy nature. There are many tours in the blue that you can't miss, on the ferries of Navigazione Lago d'Iseo.

The overhang walls that you can see between Riva di Solto and Castro are locally called "Bogn": rocky sheets at the edge of the water, spectacular. You can walk over there in ten minutes from Riva di Solto and you'll find yourself at the end of a bay, surrounded by these high and suggestive limestone formations.

Along the perimeter of the lake, there are sport stations where you can rent boats, or try sports like wakeboard, nautical ski, kitesurf or windsurf: try the emotion of sailing surrounded by mountains! Want some relax? No problem: you can have it on the beaches, enjoying the sun while the other ones do everything for you!

If you want a breathtaking landscape, take a walk to the San Defendente Church, in Solto Collina. The visit will pay you back for all the effort: a unique gaze at the lake and its mountains, from Lovere to Montisola, to the south side of the lake.
