5 Thing-to-do in Menaggio

Be enchanted by Menaggio, marvelous town on Lake Como

where
Where
Menaggio (CO)

Menaggio is located on the western shore of Lake Como, in a strategic position between Como, Sondrio and Lugano.

It has several faces: an elegant one, linked to the majestic hotels and villas those dotted the shore above Lake Como; a green one, for the itineraries and hiking paths those start from the town; a historical one, for the remains of fortresses and trenches used during the War.

For example, a visit to Villa Mylius Vigoni is perfect during a spring day, but a walk into the Val Senagra Park is the answer to your searching of shadow during the summer.

Val Sanagra: just out of Menaggio there is the splendid Val Sanagra Park. An environmental set by mosaics of woods, fields and mountain pastures, dig by Sanagra River and shaped by glaciers of the last ice age. In the Park, there are several excursionist routes. At Villa Camozzi in Codogna, there is the Ethnographic and Natural Museum of Val Sanagra.

Lago di Piano: Lago di Piano Natural Reserve is located in Val Menaggio, between Lake Como and Lake Lugano. The small fishing lake, with a coast somewhere jagged, is marvelous during the summer when the water lilies cover it almost completely. Magic and spectral during the winter, when the place gets grey tinges and the surface of the lake becomes ice.

Via Ferrata Monte Grona: the viaferrata on Monte Grona, that bring the climbers at the summit of the mount, is one of the most scenic and panoramic. From the top, you can admire one of the best views of Prealps; beyond Lake Como, Lake Lugano and Lago di Piano, you can see the other peaks, as Grigne, Mount Legnone, and the typical shape of Corni di Canzo. During the clearest days, you can see the majestic summits of the Alps, from Monviso to Bernina.

Lido di Menaggio: Beach, pool, restaurant, lounge bar, kids area and more at Lido di Menaggio, a perfect location to relax in a glamour setting in every moment of the day and during the cool nights on Lake Como. The venue is used to be a location for events, parties and wedding directly on the water of Lake Como.

Villa Mylius Vigoni: this Villa is situated in Loveno, a hamlet of Menaggio and is a splendid 19th century dwelling from which one can see one of the finest views of Lake Como. The park which surrounds the villa: it extends like an amphitheater over and represents one of the finest examples of romantic gardens to be found in Lombardy.
