Among the green of our province there are several marvelous waterfalls. Ferrera waterfall - Situated in the municipality of Ferrera the waterfall is also known by local people as Fermona. It is located about 30 meters just below the village where the Margorabbia river flows out from the caves of the Cunardo ravine to reach Valtravaglia. At the bottom of the waterfall there's a small lake where water is crystal clear and completely surrounded by nature. - How to get there: follow directions from the centre of Ferrera, walking for a short distance the bicycle path that comes from Rancio Valcuvia. They are formed from S. The itinerary to get there takes about half an hour in the nature. The waterfall is about 100 mt high and collects water that flow down from Cuvignone mountain. - How to get there: passing through Veccana, turning to Nasca and following the road S. Antonio where can find the directions. This tour starts from the cycle path along the lake through the uphill routes of the world cycling championship, passing across Villa Recalcati and Palazzo Estense with its gardens.A glimpse of Piazza Monte Grappa and Corso Matteotti before reaching viale Aguggiari up to Sant’Ambrogio with its Art Nouveau villas.From here, you’ll ride up to Sacro Monte, another Unesco site and symbol of the Varese province, to reach the viewpoint and the astronomic observatory. Along the way, you’ll also see the Campo dei Fiori Grand Hotel.If you take the military road, you can reach Forte di Orino, “Varese’s most beautiful balcony” on top of Campo dei Fiori.From here, you’ll realise why Varese is known as the “province of the seven lakes”. Unesco fossils between Italy and Switzerland

From the lakeside promenade in the characteristic small town of Porto Ceresio on the new cycle track and gravel tracks, the route then starts to climb through the Unesco area’s most important fossil sites on Monte San Giorgio. After a few sections through trenches and spectacular panoramas it then continues to Sasso Caldo, where the Besanosaurus, one of the world’s most important fossils, was found.Across the historic border between Italy and Switzerland it descends into the latter as far as Meride, a beautiful pristine town and site of a fossil museum which was renovated and enlarged in 2012 by architect Mario Botta.The return journey is on an educational footpath which returns to Cà del Monte and Besano for a visit to the museum on the Italian side. Castles, vineyards and lakes across the moraine hills

From the meeting point between the River Ticino at Sesto Calende and Lake Maggiore the route climbs past the most famous glacial erratic in Varese province and across the moraine hills to one of the most attractive views of Angera fortress with the Monte Rosa massif in the distance. It then continues through hamlets to Parco Golfo della Quassa and Sasso Cavallaccio directly to Lake Maggiore. Flanking the lake it then climbs to the peak of Monte S. Quirico with its fantastic views of the lake, fortress and Alps.It then returns to its starting point on a convenient cycle track through vineyards and oases. Adda con Leonardo

This path borders the western bank of Adda river going south, and then yp along the eastern bank.   The ride starts from Imbersago direction south, going through Robbiate and direction south, going through Robbiate and arriving at Paderno d'Adda.Following the villages along the western bank of the river, it goes toward Colnago and it crosses SP2, taking it in direction for Trezzo D'Adda. From here, it you want you can even try a diversion to Vaprio d'Adda, where Leonardo da Vinci spent for 7 years, and then fo go back up foward Crespi. From here. you have to take SP 170, riding your two-wheel racer for around 20 Km, until you arrive in Brivio, the end ot your path.  Places to visit: Imbersago: Surrounded by hills and chestnut woods, with a view of Grigne and Resegone. Here you can find the famous ferry created by Leonardo da Vinci working thanks to the drift only. Paderno d'Adda: Settled in the middle of Northern Adda Park, where you can find the Da Vinci ecomuseum, too. Here you can find the Paderno bridge, dating back to 1887/89, where nowadays there's the railway Seregno-Bergamo, renowned as an engineering wonder. Moreover, you can even visit the tamous waterway. Trezzo d'Adda: here is the millennia-long tower where died Barnabò Visconti, in addiction to the Visconti castle of 1300. Vaprio d'Adda: Leonardo lived here trom 1507 until 1513, it is betteto underline the traces and the signs left by the artist, In addiction to this,this village is settled in the Northern Adda Park, the pertect place for verdant walks and rides. Brivio: this is an old town center with a small Jewish suburb on the river bank and where you can find anamazing 3,5 Km long bicycle and pedestrian lane.
