The garden city

This tour starts from the cycle path along the lake through the uphill routes of the world cycling championship, passing across Villa Recalcati and Palazzo Estense with its gardens.
A glimpse of Piazza Monte Grappa and Corso Matteotti before reaching viale Aguggiari up to Sant’Ambrogio with its Art Nouveau villas.
From here, you’ll ride up to Sacro Monte, another Unesco site and symbol of the Varese province, to reach the viewpoint and the astronomic observatory. Along the way, you’ll also see the Campo dei Fiori Grand Hotel.
If you take the military road, you can reach Forte di Orino, “Varese’s most beautiful balcony” on top of Campo dei Fiori.
From here, you’ll realise why Varese is known as the “province of the seven lakes”.
