OPEN WINDOWS

A new project by the Association Tapirulan

There is a big block of buildings which is completely grey. Above it you can find 12 closed windows which seem to be waiting for someone's imagination to open them.
If you go for a walk around Cremona or in another town  – you will see a lot of bricked up windows   What is hidden behind them?
We would like to open those windows again, thinking about what is happing behind them and representing these scenes in a picture. “Open windows” is on not an outdoor exhibition but it represents the opportunity to discover some unusual corners of the town, it's the opportunity to raise your head and discover what we have above our heads.
First of all we are going to identify the windows we would like to open. We will choose 15 of them  (or even more if the fund-raising campaign will be successful) and, in every window, it will be exhibited a picture which will help us to imagine what is happening behind it.
The exhibition will be made up of 20 works printed on a hard surface and then placed in the bricked up window. At the end of the exhibition it will be published a catalogue containing the “stories” told  through the “pictures”.  It will be made an app with a map indicating all the windows' location. A professional photographer will take some pictures and a video-maker will record a video about the project.
The project is organized and implemented by the Association Tapirulan, which has been organizing events, exhibitions and competitions for 15 years.
For further information about the initiative and the fund-raising campaign visit the website https://www.tapirulan.it/
