Exhibition "Mars - close encounters with the red planet"
This exhibition narrates the history of Mars exploration and Italy's contribution to such adventure.
After a reference to the mythical god of war, an introduction dedicated to the first sightings of the canals by Giovanni Schiaparelli and the proliferation of science fiction. The exhibition illustrates the state of what we know about Mars nowadays through the use of data and images by the latest technology: from the first pictures taken by the Viking probe to the European Mars Express, the American Curiosity and Opportunity rovers and the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
The exhibition is an homage to the ExoMars European Program as well, created with an important contribution from Italy, which aims to get to know the Red Planet closely in order to colonize it.
It is a close look upon what the future could have in store for us with a spectacular and immersive video installation, inspired by the images from Ron Howard's MARS tv series.
