April 2025 Events in Lombardy

April brings the spring to Lombardy, with trips out of town, seasonal flavours, art initiatives, and sporting events

Spring is an invitation to rediscover Lombardy's different landscapes, with coloured flowers, outdoor experiences and art treasures.

Easter festivities and the celebration of 80 years since the Liberation of Italy will be accompanying April with events and plenty of occasions to explore and to spend quality time with family and friends. 

As well as trips to the lakes and mountains, there are also art and photographic events, typical produce tastings, and sporting competitions.

MILAN

A Time of Peace and Freedom. 80 years of liberation – 21st March to 25th April - Milan
Milan celebrates the 80th anniversary of Italy’s liberation with a packed calendar of events throughout the year as part of the “Milan is Memory” project organised by the Municipality of Milan. April in particular will be hosting conventions, performances, exhibitions, and cultural meetings to commemorate the Resistance and the value of freedom as part of a calendar of fundamental historic memory, culminating in commemorative events on 25th April.

Tulips in Groppello – 23rd March to 27th April – Groppello d’Adda
The magic of spring comes to Groppello, a district of Cassano d’Adda, with the reopening of the tulip fields, where visitors can admire and pick these scented, colourful flowers. The event, at the Villa Arcivescovile and along the Martesana Cycle Path, offers activities for families, workshops, and opportunities for relaxation, all just outside Milan.

Miart 2025: among friends – 4th to 6th April – Milan
Miart, the international fair of modern and contemporary art is back for 2025, with exhibitors from all over the world, talks, performances, and meetings at the Allianz Mico Center. This event is part of Milano Art Week, a week dedicated to art in all its forms, with an invitation to plunge into the culturally inspiring atmosphere.

Milano & Family Marathon 2025 – 5th and 6th April – Milan
Two days of sports and solidarity. The Milan marathon is an event involving old and young, and even pets on dedicated routes. The initiative is a combination of competition, fitness, and charity, animating the city with its festive atmosphere.

Salone del Mobile 2025 – 8th to 13th April – Milan
The design industry’s most important international event is back for 2025. New designs dedicated to living space and furnishings will be presented in a single innovation and experimentation space at Fiera di Milano.

Fuorisalone 2025 - 7th to 13th April - Milan 
The Fuorisalone week fills the streets of Milan with a chapter entitled “Mondi Connessi – Interactivity and Immersion: Designing for a Connected World”. An eclectic calendar of exhibitions, events and installations awaits participants for a special occasion where you can experience the city in terms of art and design.

The Valley of Cheese – 25th to 27th April – Val Brembana
Val Brembana welcomes local flavour enthusiasts with an event dedicated to the cheese-making excellences in the area. The weekend of 25th to 27th April is the perfect opportunity to discover the secrets of cheese-making, take part in guided tastings, and explore the local countryside, with excursions and workshops for all the family.

Sarnico Lovere Run – 27th April – Sarnico and Lovere
A panoramic race along the shores of Lake Iseo: the Sarnico Lovere Run is one of the most stunning races in Italy. Sunday 27th April, professional and amateur runners test themselves over a spectacular 25-km course, crossing lakeside scenery and hills, setting out from Sarnico to arrive in Lovere for an event that brings sport and beauty together.

Brescia and Bergamo International Piano Festival 2025 – 28th April to 26th June – Brescia and Bergamo
The famous piano festival is back, with a rich programme of internationally famous artists. From 28th April, the two cities will be hosting concerts, master-classes and meetings with key figures from the world of classical music, in iconic locations and historic theatres. A unique occasion to experience the magic of the piano.

Sirmione Photography Award – 6th March to 31st October – Sirmione
Sirmione becomes the heart of landscape photography, with dedicated competitions and awards to celebrate the beauty of the local area. April offers photography enthusiasts and those who want to find out more, exhibitions and events that explore the world of images in one of the most charming villages on Lake Garda.

Flowers in the Rocca – 11th-13th April – Lonato del Garda
The historic Rocca di Lonato becomes an enchanted garden with “Flowers in the Rocca”, a market of rare plants, gardening items and crafts. From 11th to 13th April, this event celebrates spring with exhibitors from all over Italy, workshops, and guided visits with flowers and history.

COMO

Easter Camp at Villa Carlotta – 22nd to 25th April – Tremezzo
Villa Carlotta opens its doors to younger visitors with its Easter Camp, a spring campus with art and nature. From 22nd to 25th April, children will have plenty of outdoor fun with creative workshops, games, and visits to the botanical park and museum. Lake Como Walking Festival – 6th April – Lake Como
Rediscovering the scenery and culture around Lake Como is the goal of the Lake Como Walking Festival, with a calendar of panoramic events dedicated to film for this 2025 edition. For the month of April, the flagship event is the “Battellata Hitchcock”, a boat trip between Nesso and Isola Comacina, in a setting of nature and mystery. The festival now has new events to experience art through the landscape.

LECCO

Excursion to Monte Barro with aperitif at sunset  – 4th April – Galbiate
Get ready to enjoy a day out that's all about nature and relaxation. On 4th April there is a guided excursion to Monte Barro, with a final stop to enjoy a panoramic aperitif at sunset. A unique experience on the trails in the Lecco area, discovering the local flowers and plants, and enjoying the spectacular views over Lake Como. Bookings are required for this event which is suitable to all.

Friendship Walk – 6th April – Bosisio Parini
The Friendship Walk (Camminata dell’Amicizia) is a date that brings together sport, solidarity and inclusion. It is organised by the “La Nostra Famiglia” Association which is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of people with disabilities. A nature itinerary through Bosisio Parini and the surrounding towns, which is open to everyone and supports social projects and to promote the Lecco area with a community message.

MANTUA

Mantua in Bloom – 26th and 27th April – Mantua
The centre of Mantua invites plant and flower lovers to a two-day event with flower exhibitions, art installations, and garden markets. The 26th and 27th April, squares and courtyards will be filled with colours and scents, with guided visits and botanical workshops as part of “Mantova Fiorita” (Mantua in Bloom).

CREMONA

Voilà: international exhibition of contemporary illustrators – 15th March to 8th June – Cremona
Until June, Cremona is hosting an event dedicated to contemporary illustrators at the Padiglione Amati in the Violin Museum. The exhibition, curated by the Associazione Tapirulan with the Municipality of Cremona, brings together works by international artists for an event that celebrates creativity, technique and visual narration.

Soncino Fantasy 2025 – 25th April – Soncino
The fascinating Rocca di Soncino comes to life with elves, dragons and knights for a day that’s all about fantasy. On 25th April, the mediaeval village offers a space for markets, performances, and re-enactments in a magical atmosphere that is ideal for families and enthusiasts alike.

MONZA and BRIANZA

UNSEEN: the unseen photos of Vivian Maier – 1st to 21st April – Monza
The eclectic personality of Vivian Maier and her extraordinary black and white photos cover the spaces of the Royal Villa of Monza for an exclusive exhibition of photographs. “UNSEEN” brings together the hitherto unseen images by the American photographer for an occasion to admire her attentive and poetic gaze at everyday life.

ATP Challenger Tour: Monza Open 25 – 6th to 13th April – Monza
The world class tennis of the ATP Challenger Tour is coming to Monza with the Atkinson Monza Open 2025. Lombardy 2025 Jubilee on Horseback – 13th April – Varzi
During the Holy Year of the Jubilee, the horseback meeting promoted by Horse Ride Experience to boost slow tourism on horseback will be crossing Europe along the ancient routes: Via Francigena, Romea Strata, and Romea Germanica. Sondrio Primavera – 12th and 13th April – Sondrio
