Pontoon bridge
This bridge is one of the last remaining pontoon bridges in Italy.
This bridge is one of the last remaining pontoon bridges in Italy.
Constructed as a temporary work at the end of the 19th century, it survived both of the World Wars. Originally made of wood, the boats were later replaced by the current concrete barges.
This type of bridge follows the flow of the water; when the water level rises the boats float.
