LES ARTS FLORISSANTS

Alongside the opulent grand operatic form, many composers tested the ground for their art in beautiful intimate chamber duets. This programme invites the listener to revel in the writing of Handel and his contemporaries: a superb example of transcendent vocal style where virtuosity and vocal prowess are agents of pure emotion. To give life to these jewels, William Christie has gathered around him and his two singers, a handful of his most dear musicians - faithful companions of Les Arts Florissants.
