THE LIGHT - GASTRONOMY AS CULTURAL ENERGY

Chefs, leading figures in food culture, global experts in the field of agricultural resources and food crises, and institutions are coming together to shine a spotlight on the complexity, history, and cutting-edge nature of contemporary African cuisines. The event’s special guest of honor is Arianna Bettin, Councilor for the City of Monza.

The evening begins with an Institutional Talk, followed by the presentation of the 2026 UMA ULAFI “Luce Perseverante” Award, designed to “shine a light on” a rising talent in Afro-Italian gastronomic culture.

The Curated Cocktail Party will round out the evening with dishes curated by UMA ULAFI. A moment of conviviality, but above all a stimulating opportunity for understanding and awareness: every bite is a fragment of a universal and cross-cultural language, rich in substance, thought, emotions, messages, and stories—a sort of 3D extension of the debate.
