Winter Lombardy

Many initiatives, activities, cultural and sporting proposals that will make you love the cold

Winter in Lombardy offers numerous solutions for a varied public. Regardless of age and interests, there will be cultural demonstrations, plus both indoor and outdoor activities scattered around the land that will cater to everybody.

The Region's art cities draw thousands of Italian and foreign tourists year-round in this season. 2016 will be no different, given the rich program of exhibitions and initiatives, starting in Milan.

Do not miss the chance to see the traditional nativity scenes of the Valtellina and Valchiavenna areas, or take a walk among their festive winter markets where all kinds of products, froom food to handicrafts, are sold.

Go to Livigno and experience the charm of winter markets that resemble those in Northern Europe. While you are looking for gifts or tasting local delicacies, why not go ice skating in one of the rinks that are installed during winter?

Lombardy has an imposing mountain range that is waiting to be discovered: trekking, climbing, dogsled and many other winter sports. Snow makes Lombardy even more fascinating, and several localions are just about an hour ago from major urban centers. After a long hike or a bicycle trip, it will be a real pleasure to sit on the table and taste a steaming plate of pizzoccheri pasta with a glass of fine Franciacorta wine.

If you wish to relax, then treat yourselves to a massage or a thermal baths treatment. Lombardy counts with many structures in Sirmione and Bormio in fairy tale localities.

Ready to depart? Winter in Lombardy is a special time of the year. Live unforgettable experiences in front of the fireplace!
