Summer in Lombardy

The best places to see, the most beautiful excursions and lots of ideas for your holiday: discover the territory of Lombardy!

Summer is both the warmest and most beautiful season of the year.

Why don't you live it in Lombardy? Lakes, mountains, sports and occasions to relax and enjoy local delicacies are available to everyone.

There are 4 great lakes and countless smaller ones featuring numerous localities where you can spend pleasant vacations or just an intense Summer weekend. Have fun at Lake Como and Iseo, in addition to the Lombard shores of Lakes Maggiore and Garda.

Take a boat trip and sail from one lakeside borough to the next while admiring the view. Engage in sports activities that will make for an unforgettable lake vacation in Lombardy: sailing, canoeing, swimming or just sunbathing at one of the Region's lake fronts.

Sports are the main activities in the mainland as well. Have you ever gone horseback riding in Lombardy? Or why not go on a relaxing bike trip? There are cycling itineraries that will allow you to explore a wide range of different territories. Don't forget that you can go paragliding and practice other exciting sports.

Want to beat the heat? Then perhaps a trip to the mountains would be more of your liking. Long walks through the woods, picnics under the shade of a tree or by the riverside. Discover the beauty of the Camonica Valley or the Valtellina area during summertime and relish the flavors of local cooking.

Peace and quiet are guaranteed, especially if you delve into the Region's gardens and villas that open during this season. Furthermore, Lombardy's 25 regional parks are definitely worth visiting with the whole family.

If you just cannot live without art, then visit Milan and the Cult Cities that Lombardy has to offer. You will be astonished by the amount of events and festivals that happen in these frantic urban centers.

You will discover unexpected corners of Lombardy that may not be so evident during other seasons.

Choose an itinerary full of unique experiences and surprises. We wish everybody a great Summer in Lombardy!
