The history of these places is full of great events involving the noble families who ruled it.   The main war conflicts of Milanese history from Frederick Barbarossa to the Italian Risorgimento took place on this territory. Great impetus was given by the work of the Cistercian monks who reclaimed much of this land from the 13th-14th centuries. They introduced and implemented the irrigation system still largely visible today, which made the Milanese plain one of the richest and most productive places in Italy. Val Bodengo, in the heart of the Lombard Alps is one of the most fascinating destinations for lovers of canyoning. This discipline, which combines elements of trekking, climbing and swimming, allows you to explore the canyons excavated by water and to face climbs and slides in an incredible natural environment.   Val Bodengo, in the municipality of Gordona, is crossed by the Boggia stream, which has shaped the rock over the millennia, creating a stunning canyon. The crystal-clear waters, granite rock faces and vegetation offer an ideal setting in which to experience adrenaline-pumping thrills in contact with nature. Canyoning in Val Bodengo is available to anyone, providing they have a good level of fitness and can swim. The valley offers different itineraries, with increasing levels of difficulty. You start with a simple, more accessible route, located at the start of the valley, where natural slides, small jumps and short rappels await you. Suitable for beginners who are approaching this experience for the first time. The next levels take place in higher areas of the valley and require more experience, up to the more expert route, which lasts a whole day and includes an hour’s hike along the path that flanks the stream.  As well as the sporting element, what makes the canyoning experience in Val Bodengo so unique is the scenery.
