Aunique panorama and an entirely whitewashed landscape are the background of our hike along the Rezzalo Valley.

The entire trail, which reaches the La Baita hut, runs along the course of the Rezzalasco stream, which creates a cut in the thick blanket of snow, thus serving as a valuable guide for all mountaineers. The path, which following it entirely leads to the Alma Pass at 2,461 m, was built during the Great War; one of the works of the defense system that was intended to prevent the disastrous effects of a possible Austrian breakthrough on the Stelvio front.

During the hike we encounter some characteristic small clusters of huts that add to the interest of the surroundings. The first grouping are the huts of the La Gande locality, followed, after a dense forest, by the Macoggia huts, the San Bernardo huts, accompanied by the typical little church consecrated in 1672, and finally the 19th-century huts of Gnera.

Here, we leave the Rezzalo Valley route and a few dozen meters ahead of us here is the La Baita hut.
