Cascata della Boggia
On the higher side of Val Bodengo, the River Boggia descends towards Gordona, flowing between the smooth walls of large stone blocks. Its route alternates narrow gulleys, waterfalls, natural chutes and deep pools of clear water, and on to the pool at the foot of the last fall.
This river is particularly well known to canyoning enthusiasts. The course of the Boggia is divided into different sections, with different, progressive levels of difficulty, and it takes you through the gully alternating swimming, slides, little rapids, and rappels. Specific equipment is needed for this hike, together with specialist alpine guides, able to assess the flow, weather conditions, and the opportunities for exiting the canyon.
Once past the gullies of Val Bodengo, the river reaches Gordona and forms a waterfall that descends along the smooth rock face, forming a large pool with emerald waters. Rocks, stretches of pebbles and shaded areas help to create this sheltered alpine beach.
During the summer days, the pool offers the possibility to bathe, always with caution: the depth, current and level of the river may vary, especially after heavy rain. Enter the water with caution, after observing the conditions and always respect the signs.
