Wine Bike Tour 3 - Nature

Designed for lovers of unspoiled nature, the route passes through the Bordighi Forest, one of the seven nature reserves in the province of Sondrio.

Established in 1994 and covering about 50 hectares, the reserve stretches along the valley floor of the Adda River near Sondrio. Very ancient and rare plant species grow and can be observed in this area, which differ depending on the proximity from the bank and thus the available water.

The marked trails within the forest are mostly on equipped and guided flat trails that will allow you to visit one of the very few remaining patches of riparian forests on the river floodplain, rich in wildlife and tree diversity.

Like all protected areas, Bosco dei Bordighi Nature Reserve has a symbolic animal, chosen because it is one of the most abundant species, as well as one that can be spotted with some ease: the great spotted woodpecker.
