Taleggio Valley to Imagna Valley

The rustle of beech leaves, the jingle of cowbells, spring water running cool inside a stone Casél: this walk climbs from Peghera to the border with Valle Imagna, shaped by the ancient ritual of the summer pastures.

The route

Starting from the Peghera meadow, the route climbs the valley-floor meadows along trail 569 and into the dense forest. Here you pass the maggenghi of Piazzoli, precious traces of rural life that are still used for grazing today. The climb continues to Bocchetta del Grassello, on the border with Valle Imagna, and then along the Canti ridge.

The poetic heart of the route is the Tre Faggi: centuries-old beech giants with gnarled branches, standing like silent sentinels between sky and valleys. The descent along the Corna Bianca slope offers a privileged view of the meadows of Pia Visin, a natural balcony over the whole Taleggio Valley.

The old Casél

Before closing the loop, the trail reveals a gem of local culture: an old Casél. In this small stone building spring water still flows, keeping the constant temperature that was once essential for maturing milk and stracchino cheese. The walk ends by crossing the village of Peghera and passing its parish church.
