Lake Annone cycle and pedestrian path

In the rolling hills of eastern Brianza, where the highlands meet the pre-Alps, Lake Annone extends before the eyes, smooth as a millpond, framed by woods and meadows. The cycle and pedestrian path forms a loop around the lake for some 14 kilometres, with its hidden landing points and memories of ancient villages. From Isella, the route passes through tree-lined sections, past quiet shores, beside the lake, and passing the flyover of the SS36 state road. A little further on, a metal bridge over the water offers charming views: reflections of the mountains, sunlit reed beds, and bell towers that stand out against the horizon. Continuing to Oggiono, following the east bank, the road passes fragrant woods and ancient villas surrounded by greenery. The route continues ascending near Annone di Brianza, where the trail is surfaced, following the shores of the lake. Along the western shore, the road becomes a dirt track, taking the rider or walker into a landscape where nature is the true protagonist: meadows with rare plants, and herons moving silently between the water and the reeds. The route ends back in Isella, on the little peninsula that divides the lake in two, completing the loop and following the whole shoreline to return to the starting point. It is also possible to set out from the Stendhal sports centre and pools. Each section offers different views: the sunset that colours the waters, the light filtering through the trees, the silence of the morning and the quiet afternoons. The Lake Annone cycle and pedestrian path is a simple, accessible route that allows cyclists and walkers the possibility to enjoy the lake close up, with different views in every section. Perfect for those seeking a quiet walk or an unhurried bike ride.

Lake Garlate and Lake Olginate cycle route

Between the calm waters of the River Adda and the mountains reflected in the lakes, this route combines panoramic views, history, and literary references. Where the river Adda slows its course, the scenery becomes art, with traditional villages and hidden sanctuaries, mountain peaks in the background, and the views that inspired the unforgettable pages of Manzoni’s The Betrothed. The cycle-pedestrian path is a loop some 20 kilometres long, linking Lecco, Garlate, Olginate and Vercurago. The route, which is flattish and accessible, is great for slow strolls, unhurried cycle rides, or hiking with a pushchair, with its sections of cycle path, dirt tracks, and short road sections, all of which are well marked. Along the shores of the Adda, every bend opens out onto different views: in the old fishing village of Pescarenico, the houses look out onto the waters and the little square where time seems to stand still. Further on, coming to Lake Garlate, you will find the Castello dell’Innominato [Castle of the Unnamed], and the Sanctuary of San Girolamo Emiliani in Vercurago overlooking the lake, with its picturesque atmospheres that will surprise the visitor every step of the way. Lake Olginate is along the route, where the Monastery of Santa Maria del Lavello in Calolziocorte invites you to take a quiet, contemplative pause, while the former railway bridge will take you towards Garlate, before crossing the Azzone Visconti Bridge and closing the loop in Lecco. Every season changes the light and the colours along the way, making every outing a different one, but in autumn, the shores light up with unique warm shades and golden tone.
