The village of Crespi d’Adda

In 1995, the workers village of Crespi d’Adda became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Founded in 1878 by Cristoforo Benigno Crespi a textile manufacturer from Busto Arsizio, the village of Crespi d’Adda has remained nearly intact over the years and is considered a prime example of industrial archaeology.

Visitors to the village can easily notice its extraordinary urban aspect, where every building has a precise role and location.

The village was structured like a proper modern city, with a residential area with detached houses and the latest facilities.
