Even though this stage is longer compared to sections, but it will allow you to follow the Ticino river towards the Po while going slightly downhill.

The Ticino is one of the cleanest rivers in Italy: the Ticino Natural Park was born with the sole purpose of protecting this environment. Continue along the river's left shore while following its many creeks. You will stubmbe upon a series of dams that serve to regulate the water levels of Lake Maggiore and the flow of the Ticino. There are several variations along this itinerary that may take you far away from the river. Nonetheless, they all go south.

The route will get you to follow the banks of the canal that flows parallel to the Ticino and diverges further on.
Keep pedaling on the plains or on a down a slight slope and you might see some gray herons, woodcocks and kingfishers. If you are particularly fortunate, also badgers, foxes and roes thanks to the low noise that a bicycle makes! From the park you will arrive directly to Abbiategrasso and the Visconti Castle. The Abbey of Morimondo is located at only 5 kms from there, a splendid example of Cistercian architecture. Try not to miss it!
