Our guided tour of the Pinacoteca starts from the courtyard of the Academy, facing the statue of Napoleon Bonaparte portrayed as Mars the Peacemaker. This copy in bronze which the Righetti brothers wanted and inspired by the neoclassical statue by Canova, is an introduction to the history of the Pinacoteca, created in the Napoleonic era in the place of the Academy of Fine Arts founded by Maria Teresa of Austria.

The trasures of Pinacoteca of Brera

The project is to add them to the future display of Palazzo Citterio as part of the project known as Grande Brera.
