Aloop trail that in the first half crosses a naturalistic area of great value, the Bernate oxbow, where the river, thanks to its continuous changes, has created an ideal habitat for the settlement of numerous plant and animal species.

Especially waterfowl such as coots, moorhens and ducks, but also grey herons, birds of prey, foxes, hares and hedgehogs.

The second part of the trail runs along the Naviglio Grande, in the stretch from Bernate Ticino to Castelletto di Cuggiono.

We cross the small wooden bridge, from where we can admire the Lanca and its lush vegetation.

If you happen to walk along this path in May, you will find the acacias in bloom scattering their white petals in the air and on the water, creating a fairy-tale landscape.
To complete the picture, it is not unusual to come across a pair of swans, which have been nesting in the Lanca for a few years. We can linger to enjoy the landscape, take a short detour to see the Celtic Calendar, or continue toward Bernate Ticino.

Once the wooded area has ended, an area of cultivated fields opens up, and in the distance we catch a glimpse of the imposing Bernate Rectory. The road leads us to the park in front of the Rectory and the Visconti Palace.
