Climbing from Lanzada, along the road leading to the Campo Moro and Gera reservoirs, one encounters the agglomeration of Franscia and then accesses the large parking area at Campo Moro (1978 m) where there is a first large parking area adjacent to the Poschiavino and Zoia refuges.

To land at the Bignami refuge, on the other hand, one must transit along the dirt road to the Alpe Gera dam. Leaving the car in the large parking area below the second dam, one ascends in the direction of the guardian's house either by using the dirt road closed to traffic or again the steep path that runs right at the foot of the rocky promontory that houses the Enel building (2000 m).

Arriving at the base of the retaining wall, one climbs it using the footbridge area and, once at the top, one realizes the enormous amount of water trapped for hydroelectric uses. You walk the entire walkway of the dam until you reach the trail that runs along the slopes of Sasso Moro. The trail, which runs parallel to the reservoir, through high-altitude pastures and scree, with the help of several switchbacks climbs toAlpe Fellaria, where Rifugio Bignami (2,400 m) stands.
