The Bellagio mountainside has special scenery that the average visitor doesn't get a chance to see, unless you have a chance to bike it! Ride with us, up and away from Bellagio, to explore the natural beauty of the serene countryside. Our tour travels over several fun roads and paths that give you a local perspective of our area. Along the way well keep an eye out for the local wildlife; cinghiale (wild pigs), camosci (little deer), and other natural wonders. We'll do some easy off-road sections and enjoy a little picnic with local and fresh specialties once we reach a high point, where we can view beautiful Lake Como and admire how far we've climbed! From the caves to paradise

From the Valganna Caves, you’ll cross the valley up to lake Ganna before reaching Boarezza. Then, from the Cadorna Line – a thick network of military fortifications – you’ll reach the top of Mount Piambello from where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Valceresio and the lake. Next, you’ll go downhill to Sasso Paradiso and then to Marzio. This section of the route is hard but worth the effort. And after a stopover at Belvedere, it will be time to get back by taking the historical uphill route of the Cycling world championships. Arrival at Chiappucci-Panizza. The lombards in the Olona valley

This tour starts from the Torba Monastery, crosses the Olona Valley cycle route, and ends at Castelseprio. You’ll be riding across trails and wades to reach the Archeological Park, the Castrum – a Lombard fortified military base – and the church of Santa Maria Foris Portas, one of the most famous monuments in the Varese area. Next stop: the Caronno Corbellaro hilltop, where you can admire a breathtaking view over Campo dei Fiori and the Olona Valley up to the Venegono seminary. A visit at Castiglione Olona, dubbed by Gabriele D’Annunzio as “Tuscan island in Lombardy”, is a must before retaking the cycle route. Castles, vineyards and lakes across the moraine hills

From the meeting point between the River Ticino at Sesto Calende and Lake Maggiore the route climbs past the most famous glacial erratic in Varese province and across the moraine hills to one of the most attractive views of Angera fortress with the Monte Rosa massif in the distance. It then continues through hamlets to Parco Golfo della Quassa and Sasso Cavallaccio directly to Lake Maggiore. Flanking the lake it then climbs to the peak of Monte S. Quirico with its fantastic views of the lake, fortress and Alps.It then returns to its starting point on a convenient cycle track through vineyards and oases. Unesco fossils between Italy and Switzerland

From the lakeside promenade in the characteristic small town of Porto Ceresio on the new cycle track and gravel tracks, the route then starts to climb through the Unesco area’s most important fossil sites on Monte San Giorgio. After a few sections through trenches and spectacular panoramas it then continues to Sasso Caldo, where the Besanosaurus, one of the world’s most important fossils, was found.Across the historic border between Italy and Switzerland it descends into the latter as far as Meride, a beautiful pristine town and site of a fossil museum which was renovated and enlarged in 2012 by architect Mario Botta.The return journey is on an educational footpath which returns to Cà del Monte and Besano for a visit to the museum on the Italian side. From Lake Maggiore to Lake Lugano

A tour from Lake Maggiore to Lake Lugano (also known as Lake Ceresio), crossing streams, waterfalls and the mills of the Varese valleys. From Luino, you’ll take the cycle path that runs along the Magorabbia stream up to Cunardo, where you can admire its cliffs and the Ferrera waterfalls. Set off towards Ghirla and stop at its “Maglio” mill, one of the best kept in the area. From here, you’ll take the cycle path that descends towards Lavena – Ponte Tresa, running along interesting routes, including the old railway with its galleries and the Argentera park, an amazing place rich in beautifully-frescoed mills.
