RECONNECTION
Exhibition by Mauro Natale
Curated by Alberto Moioli—art critic and editor-in-chief of the Encyclopedia of Italian Art
Manzoni16 opens its galleries to Mauro Natale, known by his artist name Black Phoenix, with the solo exhibition RECONNECTION. The Monza-based artist constructs a visual language through which he explores the symbols of a humanity in perpetual connection with the whole. His works offer an opportunity to reflect and reconnect with ourselves, through a narrative that is at times provocative and capable of questioning the distortion of contemporary reality through the art of drawing and detail in a way that few others can.
RECONNECTION is an invitation to rediscover the primordial bond between us and our surroundings, through powerful symbolism centered on the figure of the phoenix, an emblem of the cyclical nature of events and rebirth. Each of Mauro’s drawings takes on the value of an authentic act of self-discipline—an attempt to bring order to the inner turmoil that each of us carries within, in a form capable of speaking to everyone, beyond the limits of verbal language.
Exhibition opening: Saturday, November 7, at 6:00 p.m.
