San simone

The station of the Upper Brembana Valley is sportier than the whole mountain range of Bergamo.

San Simone is located at the foot of Mount Pegherolo, in the pristine Orobie Alps, just a few kilometres from Foppolo and Carona, which constitutes the Brembo Ski area.

This is the perfect destination for snow-lovers looking to spend a winter holiday filled with sports and nature.

From here, it is easy to reach the slopes that start at an altitude of 1600 metres and push up to 2000 metres, where the snow is kept in perfect condition long into the spring. The resort's efficient snow-making system allows snow to be maintained even in the event of minor rainfall.

San Simone includes slopes of all levels of difficulty, from those for beginners to high-altitude trails, with a ring for cross-country skiing (one kilometre long) and a beautiful snow park where snowboard-lovers can learn the basics of the sport or try out some spectacular turns.

San Simone is equipped with first-class accommodations and a small yet well-stocked shopping centre. It is also specialised in accommodating groups, and has wonderful services dedicated to families, schools and groups.

History buffs should be sure to take a walk in the historical centre of Valleve, with its original layout dating back to the Middle Ages. Two 17th century houses overlook the main square (known as the houses of the Notaries and Fabbrigeri) with decorations around the windows and the front door. Another not-to-be-missed site is the parish church of Saints Peter and Paul, dating from the 16th century, where you can admire the beautiful works by local artists.
