There is no better accompaniment to a slice of Valtellina cheese than a glass of wine from the local mountains.
Our itinerary begins in Sondrio, where you can explore the town and then focus on wine tastings. Among the wines on offer is ‘Inferno’, a wine made in one of the smallest and most inaccessible areas of Valtellina, where the vines grow on steep south-facing slopes.

La Perla winery - Teglio
Managed by Marco Triacca, the La Perla winery is certainly one of the most advanced wine producers in Valtellina. Founded in 2009, this winery produces wines such as Valtellina Superiore and Sforzato from Nebbiolo or from the native Pignola Valtellinese, which is also used to make one of the rare local sparkling wines: this zero-dosage wine is matured for around 20 months before opening.
