Visit to Santa Maria and Scaria Museum
SATURDAY 18 JULY 2020
In past centuries the artists of the Larian area have exported their genius and their technical ability to Italian and European centers, keeping the emotional bond with the homeland firm. They did so by paying tribute to the church where they were baptized, donating works and working to make the palaces and churches of their land more beautiful and precious. The church of Santa Maria and the Sacred Art Museum of Scaria, with the works of Carloni and Ferrata and his workshop, are among the most vivid testimonies of this memory and gratitude. Not only that, they are also a mirror of an art that crosses local boundaries. By visiting these places of faith and culture it is possible to embark on a virtual journey; a journey that, on the beauty route, catapults us far away, into the international rococo of Central Europe and in the great season of the Roman Baroque. Eugenia Bianchi and Giovanna Virgilio will guide you on this journey that we will travel with our imagination on the occasion of a conference and a very special visit to the church and museum.
