Mario Carrieri - Amata Bellezza
SATURDAY 15 SEPTEMBER – SUNDAY 4 NOVEMBER 2018
Mario Carrieri (Milan, 1932) is one of the protagonists of Italian photography, capable of grafting on the legacy of neorealism strong accents of existential poetry and visionary drama.
His peculiar use of light makes him one of the most appreciated photographic interpreters of sculpture, from ancient to African. He also dedicated himself to architectural photography, with an uninterrupted industriousness that led him to follow the work of many of the most respected architects of our time, including Renzo Piano, Michele De Lucchi, Aldo Rossi, Norman Foster, to the four corners of the world. , Richard Meier and Rem Koolhass.
In the last decades, Mario Carrieri has flanked to his main activity an incessant personal research dedicated to a single subject: the flowers. A theme apparently traditional that in the sensitive gaze and always out of the scheme of this artist is transformed into a reflection on the inextricable knot that binds beauty to the consciousness of its transience, in a continuous questioning on the strength of the vital instinct and on the drama that it is accompanied by the consummation of every existence, as human as it is natural.
