A December schedule packed full of events at the Civic Museums.
Alongside the Christmas-themed events, the Museum spaces are also ready to host guided tours, festive workshops, meetings, games, theatrical performances and lots, lots more!

‘Chapeau! L’industria del cappello a Monza tra Ottocento e Novecento’ (The hat industry in Monza between the nineteenth and twentieth century - Guided tour of the exhibition)
A guided tour to acknowledge an important moment in the history of Monza: the fascinating art of hat making portrayed through antiques, machinery, hat styles and vintage photographs.

Caccia al personaggio’ - (Hunt the Character - Museum game for families)
Who’s hiding in the museum halls? Artists, saints, kings, noble men and women, rich entrepreneurs, young peasants ... after having discovered the portraits in the museum we’ll go out onto the streets of Monza in search of the locations that, still today, narrate their history and preserve their memories.
Event in collaboration with Art-U Cultural Association.

‘Cultura e territorio: la riscoperta di luoghi e tradizioni’ (Culture and territory: the rediscovery of places and traditions - Public meeting)
Meeting with Andrea Vitali, the successful novelist and winner of numerous literary prizes, who is also a doctor and ‘tourist guide’ in his native Bellano.
In collaboration with MEMB Monza and Brianza Ethnological Museum.

‘Metafore rossiniane’ (Theatrical tribute to Rossini)
Musical theatre, prose and operatic arias that rework the composer’s epic three-act ‘Armida’ through literary texts of different styles, genres, periods and music. With Eleonora Colaci (soprano), Ryunosuke Komatsu (tenor) and Beatrice Turra on pianoforte. Directed by Davide Mariani. The event is part of the ‘Caro Rossini: omaggio al Maestro e alla sua arte’ (Caro Rossini: Tribute to the Master and his Art) series of commemorative events.
In collaboration with the Friends of the Monza and Brianza Museum non-profit Association.

‘Dimmi che cappello porti e ti dirò chi sei!’ (Tell me what hat you wear and I'll tell you who you are! - Family Tour with children aged 5 upwards)
A hat is not just a hat ... on the contrary, it has always been an important symbol and, still today, helps signify who you are and what type of job you do! Maybe you’ve never really thought about it? In the past we wore many types of hats that have probably gone out of fashion nowadays: let's search for them in artworks on display and guess what the character wearing a certain hat does!
